This class is designed to teach the basics of the Internet Connection for AS/400
(IC/400) and allow
you to set up your own World Wide Web (WWW) site using your AS/400.
It assumes you are using V3R2 of OS/400 with the TCP/IP Connectivity
Utilities/400 (5763-TC1) installed and configured.
(Other assumptions)
The symbols

Assumptions:
This class assumes the following:
- That the students have a good understanding of the basic components of TCP/IP and the AS/400. This class does not cover TCP/IP configuration and operation, for example, and will assume that the student can do basic TCP/IP tasks such as copying a file between the AS/400 and a PC via FTP.
- V3R2 of OS/400
- The GA CUM PTF package C6144320
- The GA CUM+1 PTF package C6165320
- The anonymous FTP lab requires PTF SF31879 for 5763-TC1 to be installed. This PTF allows the AS/400 FTP server to change the namefmt to 1 when the first directory command comes from the client with a leading '/' (slash).
- TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities/400 (5763-TC1, a free LPP that comes with your
purchase of OS/400) is loaded and configured.
Note: the Internet Connection for AS/400 is a part of the TCP/IP Connecitivity
Utilities/400.
- 5763-PW1 Application Development ToolSet/400
- 5763-RG1 ILE RPG/400 - RPG/400
- 5763-WP1 OfficeVision/400
- The program examples of this class are found in the ITSOIC400 library that
comes with the redbook Cool Title About AS/400 and Internet (SG24-4815-01).
For some of the demonstrations and labs to function properly the AS/400 library
ITSOIC400 and directories /class and /itsoic.400 must be restored to your AS/400.
Also, HTTP configuration on the AS/400 must be complete in order to properly serve
the HTML and programs found in this class. This HTTP configuration source can be found in ITSOIC400/HTTPCFG.HTTPCFG.
The 'broken' versions of the ITSO Company web demo program can be found in library ITSOICMST and directory /ITSOIC.MST. This 'broken' version is used in the student lab portion of this class as the students must fix and repair the ITSO Company application into working order.
